How to create a communication protocol

  • Navigate to System ConfigurationStandard device communication protocols

  • Click Add Communication Protocol

  • Set all required fields

  • Click OK

How to create a perspective

  • Navigate to System ConfigurationDevice classification and categories

  • Click Add Perspective

  • Set a root name and add optional nodes

  • Click OK

How to add a device from the inventory page

  • Navigate to InventoryView device and sensor inventory

  • Click Add Device

  • Set all required fields

  • Click Save

  • Select created device

  • Click OperationDiscovery

  • Select a communication protocol

  • Click Run

  • After completion the device status will be changed

How to assign a perspective to a device

  • Navigate to InventoryView device and sensor inventory

  • Select one or more device

  • Click Assign Perspective

  • Select a perspective

  • Click OK

  • Now you can filter devices using the "Perspective Explorer" on the LHS

How to create a discovery profile for IP range

  • Navigate to Discovery and Data PollingConfigure discovery

  • Click Add Discovery Profile

  • Set all required fields (you can hover over the question mark to see the supported formats of network addresses)

  • Click OK

  • Select newly created discovery profile and click Run Discovery Profile

  • Observe running process in the Activity window by clicking on the ring bell

  • After completion of discovery you can find devices in the Inventory

How to create a scheduled polling by a perspective

  • Navigate to Discovery and Data PollingConfigure measurement polling

  • Click Add Polling Profile

  • Set a unique name, optional description, select Perspective profile type

  • Select a checkbox Scheduled Polling

  • Navigate to Schedule tab next to General

  • Configure the desired schedule, specify the reoccurrence

  • Click OK

  • After a profile completion navigate to InventoryView device and sensor inventory

  • Right click on the device → click View Sensors → select a sensor → observe graphics

  • Check Logs (if something goes wrong).

  • Navigate to System ConfigurationActivity logs

How to create a scheduled cloud profile

  • Navigate to Cloud ConnectivityIoT cloud connectors

  • Click Add Cloud Connector

  • Set a unique name, optional description, select a provider and fill in all credentials

  • Click OK

  • Navigate to Cloud ConnectivityPush data to cloud

  • Click Add Cloud Profile

  • Set a unique name, optional description, select Data publishing type, select Perspective profile type and choose the perspective

  • Press checkbox Scheduled Cloud Profile

  • Navigate to Schedule tab next to General

  • Configure the desired schedule (it should start after the completion of a polling profile)

  • Click OK
